At 5300 feet here in Aurora we get better mileage than at lower altitudes. We frequently ride at 10,0000 feet or above and the bike runs perfectly.
Most of your day rides are going to be between 6000 and 10,000 feet and you will not experience any difference other than a slight decrease in horsepower.
After all of the complaints about the heat and humidity of Gatlinburg the cool dry mountain air should be a welcome change.
