What about deer creek road from the Cheatam Reservoir up into the mountains behind Morrison?
You know, I was thinking about Deer Creek. It's never been that great of a ride, but is pretty and has good variety. I'd rate Coal Creek Canyon north west of Golden as better and then Golden Gate Canyon north west of Golden as superior. There are a good number of really good canyon rides out of Denver from Deer Creek all the north to Coal Creek. Boulder Canyon right out of Boulder is fun if you can run it when there isn't bumper-to-bumper traffic.
