Ride locations for CCR 2004

Folks I need some help! (in more ways than one...) I was looking at the Colorado map last night and have several questions for anyone from the area or anyone who has knowledge. First I see Pikes Peek is only a day trip away from Breckinridge and was wondering if anyone has riden their motorcycle up the dirt road all the way to the top. If so, is this a "smart" thing to do on a KLT or should I not plan on riding to the top? Also I was looking at making a day trip (although I know it would be a loooong day) over to the Gunnison Wilderness area to look at the Black Canyon. Looking at the roads it looks like it might be around a 400 mile trip. Is this too ambitious of a trip from Breckinridge? I am not concerned about 400 miles just how long it might take given the average speed on the twisty roads.
In addition I am looking at the possibility of riding over 10 passes greater than 10K feet in one day. Any interest? I'm not sure whether there are 10 passes within 1 days ride. Still working this plan. Any help on these rides would be greatly appreciated. I will post info on these rides and more as I work out the details.
